Villa Mariposa is a collection of units located within a gated community in Tamarindo. These small quiet villas are perfect for those looking for a relaxing getaway outside the center of town.

The local Spanish style gives you a taste of the Costa Rican culture as you relax and enjoy paradise. These villas are traditionally styled and have a local feel to them. You will find however, that these villas are not as rustic as most Tico homes found throughout the country; They are well designed with an exterior local feel and with an interior beach motif with all up to date amenities. All units are fully furnished with functional kitchens, beautiful bathrooms, a/c, washer/dryer, television, high speed internet and fresh linens.

We have 9 villas available in this complex all of which are only a 5-10 minute walk from the beach. All units are very similar and around 1000 sq. feet.

The comfortable well-appointed Villas in this gated complex share a community swimming pool, whirlpool and large Palapa…a great area to hang out with your group or to lay around and soak in some sun. It’s also a fun place to share stories with other travelers from around the world staying in the other villas. Each Mariposa villa offers a taste of Costa Rican living. They are all set up the same with two bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a Great room, kitchen and their own Palapa. All comfortably sleep 4 and some will sleep 6 with a convertible couch.

Built and painted with colorful concrete block walls, Terracotta roofs, these bright Italian style, fully air conditioned villas have a very open floor plan. Inside you’ll find mahogany ceilings with a vaulted ceiling in the great room and ceramic tile floors throughout. Each villa is uniquely furnished and comfortably equipped but all have well outfitted kitchens for any kind of food preparation. Just out the front door is a personal Palapa to sit under and enjoy the tropical bird sounds, occasional howling monkey as well as meandering cows while enjoying morning coffee and preparing for a day’s adventure.

Playa Tamarindo is a great place to be to create memorable vacation experiences. Restaurants with many different international-cuisines, engaging night life as well as plenty of shops and 2 grocery stores, a tropical white sandy beach with world class surf and many different adventure experiences that begin here…all part of Tamarindo and within walking distance of these villas. An added feature is that the Villa Mariposa complex has secure parking if you decide to have a car as well as nightly manned security.
